<p>Die <b>Scombriformes</b><sup id="cite_ref-Betancur-R._et_al._1-0" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-Betancur-R._et_al.-1"><span class="cite-bracket">[</span>1<span class="cite-bracket">]</span></a></sup> (= <b>Pelagia</b> <small>Miya <a href="Et_al." title="Et al.">et al.</a>, 2013</small><sup id="cite_ref-Miya_et_al._2-0" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-Miya_et_al.-2"><span class="cite-bracket">[</span>2<span class="cite-bracket">]</span></a></sup>) sind eine Fischordnung aus der Gruppe der <a href="Barschverwandte" title="Barschverwandte">Barschverwandten</a> (Percomorphaceae). Die Ordnung wurde 1859 durch den niederländischen Arzt und <a href="Ichthyologe" class="mw-redirect" title="Ichthyologe">Ichthyologen</a> <a href="Pieter_Bleeker" title="Pieter Bleeker">Pieter Bleeker</a> aufgestellt, die diesem Taxon zugeordneten Taxa später aber in die Ordnung der <a href="Barschartige" title="Barschartige">Barschartigen</a> (Perciformes) und hier vor allem in die Unterordnung der <a href="Makrelenartige" title="Makrelenartige">Makrelenartigen</a> (Scombroidei) gestellt. Mit dem Aufkommen der <a href="Kladistik" title="Kladistik">Kladistik</a> und der Methode des DNA-Vergleichs zur Verwandtschaftsanalyse zeigte sich jedoch, das die Scombroidei kein <a href="Monophylum" class="mw-redirect" title="Monophylum">Monophylum</a> darstellen.<sup id="cite_ref-Orrell_3-0" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-Orrell-3"><span class="cite-bracket">[</span>3<span class="cite-bracket">]</span></a></sup> Somit führte auch der Versuch von E. O. Wiley & David Johnson, die Scombroidei aus den Perciformes auszugliedern und sie als Scombriformes in den Ordnungsrang zu heben, nicht zu einer monophyletischen Fischordnung,<sup id="cite_ref-Wiley_&_Johnson_4-0" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-Wiley_&_Johnson-4"><span class="cite-bracket">[</span>4<span class="cite-bracket">]</span></a></sup> da dabei nicht die inzwischen durch DNA-Vergleiche gewonnenen neuen Erkenntnisse über verwandtschaftliche Beziehungen innerhalb der Barschverwandten berücksichtigt wurden. In einer Anfang 2013 veröffentlichten Revision der <a href="Systematik_der_Knochenfische" title="Systematik der Knochenfische">Knochenfischsystematik</a> durch Ricardo Betancur-R. und Kollegen werden die Scombriformes in neuer Zusammensetzung mit insgesamt 16 Familien, die bisher sechs verschiedenen Unterordnungen der Barschartigen zugeordnet wurden, neu definiert.<sup id="cite_ref-Betancur-R._et_al._1-1" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-Betancur-R._et_al.-1"><span class="cite-bracket">[</span>1<span class="cite-bracket">]</span></a></sup> Die Verwandtschaft dieser Taxa wurde kurz darauf von Thomas J. Near und Mitarbeitern in ihrer phylogenetischen Untersuchung der Verwandtschaftsverhältnisse der <a href="Acanthomorpha" title="Acanthomorpha">Acanthomorpha</a> bestätigt.<sup id="cite_ref-Near_et_al._5-0" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-Near_et_al.-5"><span class="cite-bracket">[</span>5<span class="cite-bracket">]</span></a></sup> Mitte 2013 beschrieben Masaki Miya, Matt Friedman et al. eine Klade mit gleicher Zusammensetzung unter dem neuen Namen Pelagia, da es sich überwiegend um <a href="Pelagial" title="Pelagial">pelagisch</a>, d. h., im offenen Ozean lebende Fische handelt.<sup id="cite_ref-Miya_et_al._2-1" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-Miya_et_al.-2"><span class="cite-bracket">[</span>2<span class="cite-bracket">]</span></a></sup>
